January 27 to March 25, 2017
Join us for the opening reception and to launch the Gallery’s 40th year in our newly renovated exhibition space, Thursday, January 26 at 7 pm

Nanaimo Art Gallery is located one block away from the city’s working harbour, a site that is distinctly local, but through oceanic networks of distribution, is connected to harbours around the world. Landfall and Departure: Prologue is a contemporary art exhibition that responds to the harbour as a place where goods, labour, and stories are exchanged. This exhibition features the work of Doug Allen, Michael Belmore, Allan Sekula and Noël Burch, Heather Cameron, Stan Douglas, Elisa Ferrari, E.J. Hughes, Emily Luce and Klehwetua Rod Sayers, Max Maynard, Marina Roy and Graham Meisner, Charles H. Scott, Jack Shadbolt, Tommy Ting, Hajra Waheed.
