This long standing Crimson Coast Dance Society fundraising event is enjoying its 5th year of partnership with the Grand Hotel and their chef, Ian Ver Teer. A perfect pairing in every way, the evening offers elegance, fine samplings, delicious hors d’oeuvres, live music by Steve Jones and David Baird and additional fundraising activities for this important Nanaimo professional dance arts organization. According to Director of Operations, Susie Sirri, “This event is another example of how we are standing out in the eyes of whisky aficionados.” The hotel currently stocks about 140 labels in its own Whisky bar. The Grand Hotel’s commitment to ‘whisky culture’ was noted as a major attraction for Crimson Coast’s event organizers.
Nanaimo’s local community of food providers, products and services round out the success of Wee Tipple, supporting our menu and silent auction. We are grateful for this small City’s generous nature and for the enthusiasm and support of our Scotch, Beer, Wine and Spirits distributors. This is an event built by many. Thank you for joining us this year.
“It has been remarkable to produce a fundraising event for 12 years, witness its evolution, and note that it only gets better with age….like the very products sampled,” says Crimson Coast Dance Society’s Holly Bright. “The Grand Hotel offers important support from the whisky knowledge that comes as a result of establishing Nanaimo’s only whisky bar to the gourmet dishes their Grand Cru Restaurant chef creates. Their staff and management are enthusiastic and creative and we are grateful. Board members can focus even more on the silent auction and fundraising fun for the evening. Proceeds from the event are a welcome contribution to Nanaimo’s InFrinGinG Dance Festival in July.”
Our fundraising initiatives and their success let the public and our government know that arts and culture are important to you and particularly the work of Crimson Coast Dance Society. Your presence here counts as a vote in support of accessibility to professional dance arts in Nanaimo. Additionally, funds raised this evening enable us to leverage funding from government. All of this means that we are able to continue to produce high calibre, professional dance events that make Nanaimo an attractive and FUN place to live.
